Most people spend all of their time writing the content of their best man speech or father of the bride speech and some almost no time on body language. This is a mistake because up to 65% of all communication is non-verbal!

Eye contact = Credibility

Getting engaged is an amazing time in your life. It is one of those moments that you dream about, then can’t believe has actually happened. You have so many wonderful things to celebrate and look forward too that you may forget, or not realize, just how much work needs to be done.

The other choice is to make your own. Buy a three ring binder, some loose leaf paper, a couple of folders and some dividers. Make sure they all have holes so you can put them in the binder. Use the folders to hold papers that you get from different vendors and use the dividers to separate items. The loose leaf paper is for your notes, be sure to organize everything in a way that will work for you.

Once you are organized there are a few essential elements that you need to decide on. Addressing these early on will make for less conflict later, as well as easier planning. Every bride wants to look stunning on her wedding day, so naturally wants a wedding gown that fits perfectly. There are so many dresses to choose from that it can sometimes be overwhelming. Finding a dress that compliments your unique body shape is important. Knowing where to start you search is very helpful. The cut, style and even the fabric of your gown can have a tremendous impact on how you appear on your wedding day. There are some simple guides that can help you get started in selecting the perfect dress that will accent your assets and disguise any flaws.

For the future bride that has an hourglass figure, an off-the-shoulder or strapless gown is perfect. Accentuate the curves with one-piece dresses. A two-piece gown will tend to chop the figure in two. Avoid heavy beading since this can make the bride look heavier.

For the girl with a figure that is pear shaped, a gown with puffy sleeves or shoulder pads is recommended. Avoid body hugging fabrics, full skirts or any cut that makes the top part of the body look smaller and the lower part of the body larger. The idea is to “even things out.”

For the petite or short bride there are many choices. Off the shoulder dresses or gowns with shoestring straps are the best choice. A bride with a square figure should not opt for sheath type dresses or anything clingy since there will be no way to create any type of illusions.

If the bride is full-figured woman, the best choice would be the A-line style. A gown that is cut in an A-line style will lengthen the entire body without bringing attention to the waistline. Another suitable choice would be a dress that has an empire waist since the empire is located just below the bust, which is often the narrowest point on the body. This will conceal the waist and hips. Full figured women are usually very curvy; scoop necks or deep V-necks will flatter the curves. Don’t be afraid to show some skin; revealing some skin at the neckline or on the arms can often make you appear slimmer.

For the large busted bride look for an off the shoulder gown, it will look stunning. It draws the attention upward to emphasize the shoulders while minimizing the chest. Stay away from full skirts. You don’t want to look large on both the top and the bottom. Stick with a narrow skirt.

· Wedding Style. Are you having an evening wedding with candles, a beach wedding, or a ceremony in someone’s backyard? Think about the ceremony surroundings on your wedding day.

· Ethnic heritage. Feel free to draw on your ethnic heritage when choosing your dress, it can make for a more interesting theme to your wedding day than the same old same old. There are so many fabulous styles and colors that the white dress often doesn’t measure up to. You can even limit this to accessories for just a little taste rather than the entire wedding theme. Many cultures have symbols to be embroidered in white on white and they make the dresses fabulously interesting.

· Comfort: Your bridal gown should fit well and be comfortable for an entire day’s wearing. The undergarments should be comfortable as well, which means you need to think about what needs to be worn and or built into the dress!

· Flattering. Last and most importantly. You should look fabulous! It’s your wedding.

When you go shopping for your dress it’s always a good idea to bring family or friends who’s opinions you trust. Be careful here not to just bring your best friend who may just say what you want to hear. This is an important day, so choosing your help wisely for someone who will give you an honest opinion is better than realizing on your wedding day that your dress isn’t really all it could have been.

For those on a tight budget one way to keep a wedding within your financial means is to select a cheap
wedding dress. When I say “cheap” I do not mean shoddily made, I mean one that you searched high and low for and once you found it you haggled on the price until you got it at the price you wanted. For an item that is worn only once and usually only for a few hours it is hard to justify spending thousands and thousand of dollars for something that has that little utility.

There are many ways to find an inexpensive wedding dress. One way is to search on Craig’s list classified ads. Craig’s list is set up by city and so all you would need to do is go to Craig’s list and find the closest metropolitan area . They have great deals on all kinds of items so may find way more than just a cheap wedding dress.

Another great way to find an inexpensive gown is to look at other online classifieds. One of my favorites is Backpage. They have nationwide listings and have tons of discount wedding dresses. Just go to Google and search for online classifieds and you will find all sorts of online classifieds.

Yet another way is good ole Ebay. I have found that eBay is a great place to find all sorts of wedding supplies at cheap prices. They not only have used wedding gowns but also brand new designer wedding dresses. If you sign up for a Paypal account you cannot get ripped off or I have never been anyway. Check out eBay and also Paypal and you will be amazed at all the things you can get at incredible prices.

Of course the best way to get a wedding dress at a huge discount is to buy a used one. If you are really tight on your budget this is the route you want to take. Most major cities have clothes consignment shops and they always have some beautiful gowns that they are selling. You may find you entire spring wardrobe their for only a few hundred dollars.

You can always get it altered by a good seamstress and it will fit like it was made for you. Of course besides size you want to be sure the dress has no tears or stains and is larger than you are so that it can be altered.

One thing that you can do with your savings is to beef up the accessories you wear on your wedding day. A nice pair of gloves, more and better wedding jewelry as well as a fantastic veil. These will make your overall appearance spectacular which should be your ultimate goal to begin with.

So keep an open mind when looking for cheap or inexpensive wedding dresses. If you have a flair for style then you can make it work and look even better than if you had bought a designer wedding gown.
